The Generation I and II Pokemon are undoubtedly the catchiest: Marleybone, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, it doesn't matter. The early ones are way more memorable than J&K, which only has a few memorable episodes. Also, even though it's the second best overall, it's not nearly as good as the first season. Ash is always significantly better in lore driven territory. This is made clear, especially in the second half of his journey through Johto. Ash isn't so much a cool charcter as he is a guy who follows deadbeats anywhere without consideration for the destination. The number one guy. For example, he wanted to go to Hearthome City instead of follow the main characters home because some dude told him he was the one who could catch a pokemon there. That's why I prefer to watch or read about Ash's adventures through Johto, including the ending where he makes a huge deal out of Misty being revealed to be pregnant, because it makes more sense, for him, than being the main character of the story. He moves on, and doesn't go back to Ash Falls. He doesn't return to the place where the biggest event of his youngish life happened. It's not even necessarily close. That would be like me pulling up in a Honda Pilot and parking next door to my high school to show my kids where I did, and then going back to my parents house to my room and climbing into bed next to my mom without ever looking back and telling my friends who made my life torture that I was moving back to my childhood home. d2c66b5586
